4 Attitudes that Hinder Service

Romans 12:1 – “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
 
Acquiring volunteers to serve in your church isn’t always the easiest thing to accomplish; in fact, it can quickly become frustrating and stressful.  Busyness and overloaded schedules add to the difficulties, but often the deciding factor when it comes to service stems from our heart condition.

6 Qualities of a Servant Leader

Matthew 20:25-27 – “But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.  But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:”

John 13:4,5 – “He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.  After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.”
 
We know from the words of Christ and the example of Christ that true leadership, which is biblical leadership, is always servant leadership

Don’t Just Go to Youth Group…Be the Youth Group!

I Corinthians 12:12,14,18-20,27 – “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  For the body is not one member, but many.  But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.  And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body.  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
 
One of my favorite toys growing up was Legos!  My brother and I would spend hours at our lego table, digging through color coordinated lego bins, using our imagination, and building pre-designed sets.  The interesting thing about lego sets is the fact that they are designed for a purpose.
